My name is Luis Castillo Silva and I am a queer, Chicano creator from Tucson, Arizona with a lifelong passion for storytelling! I have years worth of self publishing experience which includes writing, crowdfunding, editing, and producing physical books, zines, and comics. My writing often uses surreal horror concepts that are inspired by modern internet horror, Junji Ito, and old-school Lovecraftian weird fiction to critique the thing that scares me the most in life: the modern world. I also write stories from every genre – especially queer-focused erotica! – but they are all linked by my desire to use pop culture as a vessel to explore all the joys and horrors that I see in life. (It helps me cope with the cosmic dread of it all.)
My writing includes the queer fantasy erotica webcomic Witch-Slayer, the art and prose horror zine Ghost Journals, and the horror comedy romance comic SLAY. My writing will also be featured in I'll Kill You Last, an anthology that fuses tropes from horror and action films into one gnarly blend! Finally, I have also worked as an editor on the horror comics series Allison Strange and Kontra: Against Evil.
I am learning the craft of writing from master horror comics writer Cullen Bunn and am a proud member of both the Fae Ring Collective as well as the Cartoonist Coop! I am also a novice puppeteer with Red Herring Puppets!
